Well I am from Bangladesh and I am planing to visit Ladhak in Winter, so, I want some information about the Road Condition of ladhak, is Roads are open in January or February to go Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong Lake,Tso moriri and Lamayuru this information helps me a lot.
Yes, the roads in Ladakh remain open all around the year including the winter months. However, if there is fresh snowfall going on then army does not allow vehicle movement until it is safe to travel across the passes. You must read:
Thank You so much, and by the way, which is better chance to heavy snowfall January or February?
Both have equal chance of snowfall. It is winter and Jan and Feb are peak months of snowfall
Okay, and if I will go March then any chance to heavy Snowfall…..
Less but again yes, it keep snowing up to May but frequency decreases after Feb. So, even in the month of March, all depends upon your luck. I was there in May and our flights got cancelled due to snowfall and one day Changla was closed. All this happened in just 10 days 🙂
Okay, I want to fell the extreme Winter in Ladhak, so could you please suggest me that which month is better for me and how many days (With extra days for unavoidable circumstance) I should stay for visit Lamayuru, Nubra, Turtuk, Panggong and Tso Moriri and in winter any share taxi is available or I have to reserve a taxi.
Taxis will be hard to find. Best will be to reach there hunt for shared taxis with other tourists of similar interest. In my first reply above I have suggested the plan and things you should take care for a trip to Ladakh in winter
