Hello Dheeraj Ji,
We were planning to Spiti trip in last week April (28th April to 5th May). We have already done our flight tkt booking .
Our planned route was delhi >> Shimla>>Kalpa>>Tabo>>Kaza >> back to delhi with same route.
I got shocked after seeing weather prediction, which is showing first week of May -16 c , I didn’t expected this much cold in May first week.
Please suggest if road will be open & according to your knowledge this weather forecast is correct ??
Please help !!
It is partially winters in Spiti during that time of the year and it will surely be cold especially in night and mornings. Also the roads will only be open from Shimla side, so in 7 days you will have to make the trip from Shimla – Kinnaur and back which will be hectic. I will suggest to keep the trip limited to Kinnaur Valley
Thanks for your response Dheeraj Ji,
I am scared of frozen winter like -15 C , I can extend the trip for one day more if Spiti is feasible .
With 8-9 days in hand you will be able to do following:
Day 1 | Delhi – Narkanda
Day 2 | Narkanda- Kalpa
Day 3 | Kalpa – Nako – Tabo
Day 4 | Tabo – Dangkar – Pin Valley – Kaza
Day 5 | Kaza and around (Ki, kibber, gette, hikkim, komik, langza – Choose whatever you possibly can)
Day 6 | Kaza towards Kunzum Pass to watch snow walls and back to Kaza/Tabo
Day 7 | Kaza/Tabo – Geyu Mummy – Sangla
Day 8 | Sangla – Chitkul – Sarahan
Day 9 | Sarahan – Delhi (long drive but as last day you can rest at home)
