We are a group of 12 people all in the age group of 22-26. We are planning to go to Himachal Pradesh in the month October 2018. We plan to have a good stay at these places and also some adventure activities such as a 2 day trek to Triund. The places we are interested in are Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Triund, Kasol, and Mcleod Ganj. While doing our research about the same, I came across some articlesr the internet ove that say that the weather during the month of october in these places is not going to be pleasant. I would like to know what exactly are the weather conditions at these places in the given time. I would like to know whether it will be snowy, summerish, rainy, etc in October.  Also, what would be the preferred mode of transportation ? Currently we are looking at taking a private vehicle(some 12 seater) for the entire trip. Please advise.

Rushikesh, it is fall/autumn time in October in Himachal. You will have a pleasant weather during these days and enjoy the trip a lot. No snow during this time even on the high mountain ranges. With 12 people on board, you should make the trip with a tempo traveller.

How many days do you have in hand if in case I suggest some itinerary for you?

Hey Dharmesh, thanks for the information about the weather that you provided above. We are from Mumbai. We have planned for a 9 days trip. This includes the travel from Mumbai to Himachal and return as well. Our tentative dates of travel are from the 20th of October. For now, we had planned to take a early morning flight from Mumbai to Amritsar which would reach Amritsar by 9.30 AM. Then we intended to visit the Golden Temple, finish up by 12 o’clock / 1.00PM and then start our journey towards Dalhousie. For our return we had planned to take a train from Chandigarh for Mumbai. This was keeping in mind that we will travel from Dalhousie to Kasol and end up the trip at Chandigarh.

Now that I have shared our travel duration and tentative dates with you, I would love to have a itinerary from you. Please include the estimated budget if possible when you provide the itinerary as well.

Thanks in advance.
