Day 2 : Sarchu to Leh and over night at Leh
Day 3: Leh local sight seeing and apply for permit
Day 4 : Leh to Nubra via Kardungla
Day 5 : Kardungla to Pangong and over night at pangong
Day 6 : Pangong to Leh
Day 7 : LEH to kargil
Day 8 : Kargil to Srinagar
Day 9 : Srinagar Local sight seeing
Day 10 : Srinagar to Daramshala
Day 11 : Daramshala Local sigh seeing (alternative plan is to go to Kasol and kheerganga)
Day 12 : Daramshala to Manali and return the rented bike in manali.
Please suggest me if i have to change my plans….
Also please tell me about the permits….
Looking forward for some amazing replies.
I Will suggest you start from Srinagar side and come back from Manali side. It helps alot in the acclimatization and making a successful Ladakh trip. You can check a very balanced and most common itinerary for Leh – Ladakh followed by many travellers including me at the link here for 13-14 days: Most Common Itinerary for Leh – Ladakh.
You should try to fit your plan as per above suggested plan and do lower Himachal places in some other plan. You will never go to Ladakh again and again so as to afford missing places in Ladakh for lower Himachal places. So, spend more time up there.
Much appreciated on your reply. Will consider to spend more days in Leh and J&K rather spend in lower himachal.
And, any idea about the rental bikes in manali and permits in leh?
I heard that, the bike I rent in Manali cannot use for Leh, Nubra, pangong lake…, but i was told by a renting place in manali that, if the bikes in Leh dealers are over we can use the manali bikes in Leh. How true is this statement?
Outside rented bikes are not allowed for sightseeing Ladakh. You will have to hire Leh based bike. The statement that he is making is somewhat true but you cannot be certain that Leh bikes will not be available at all in all bike rental shops 🙂
So, suppose if the bikes are over do i still get to use manali bike there in Leh, Nubra and pangong? And has anybody experienced that kind of incidents?
Also is it possible to visit TSO Moriri lake on the way from Manalai to Leh? I mean, before I reach Leh, can I visit TSO Moriri and Pangong LAke and then later visit Le?
Please note that I am going from Srinagar Side, so ignore the 2nd question. Please clarify the first only.
And also, Do you have any contacts who rent bikes both Manali and Leh?
I highly doubt about that rule as it is just verbal message spread over widely but not mentioned in the rules of Bike Rental Association of Leh. I will recommend to avoid it unless you want to take a chance. No you should not visit Tso Moriri from Manali side and can read: 5 reasons not to visit Tso Moriri from Manali side

Thanks Dheeraj for your prompt replies.
I would like know about the driving license for bike ride. Since I am a srilankan, i am holding my local driving license. So it it valid to use that in Leh and manali to ride the rental bike? or do i have to convert it to international driving license?
Please kindly clarify this too.
I am not 100% sure about it, I am sorry. I believe if the License is in English it might work but as I said I am not 100% sure. Also, it will be better if you carry the International Driving Permit
