My husband and I will be travelling in Ladakh from Aug 28th for 5 days and planning to visit both Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso. Just heard about that the inner line permit is not issuing to foreigners at the moment due to the border conflict between India and China. We are from Taiwan, which previously was seen as a province of China however as an indecent country nowadays by Indian Government.
Despite of our guest house sending this message for me, I couldn’t find out any updated information of this bad news. Does anyone realize when the policy started and when the permit would be open again?
Pangong tso is one of my dreamy places in the world. If we couldn’t make it, I may burst into tears in front of DC office!!
All the best.
I am not aware of this update. Did you try applying for the permit online?
Couple hours ago the guest house sent me a new message saying it’s no problem to get the permit. I hope this information is real. They will contact directly to the office again.
But…since none of you hear about not issuing, I assumed the the guest house probably got wrong info at first place.
Tried online permit but there was a column to choose an agent, which I had no clue which I should click if I applied by myself. So I didn’t finish the application. Any tip? Or I can only hand in my application to an agent even there’s a website?
Oki, if the guest house is taking care of it, let them do so. IN case not, let me know I will provide the contact where you can get it done.
