The Journey so far-

Day 2 | 26th December, 2008 | Karn Prayag to Joshimath

After a sound sleep, it was a very sunny morning in Karn Prayag as u can see below in the pictures. Since we were extremely hungry we rushed to the nearby dhaba had some breakfast got some tea packed n some omelets… and OOPs there the news strikes n 4 broken hearts NO SNOW YET at AULI… it was disappointing to continue we got a suggestion to visit CHOPTA as it had a lot of snowfall till date..but we stuck to the PLAN :)…

Now the LAST climb to Joshi MathDelhi to Auli

We reached Joshimath took a room again in rest house of Gharwaal Mandal which we found extremely nice… n this one didn’t disappoint us either… had lunch in their restaurant that was nice too… n from the room took some photographs…

View from the balcony was just amazingDelhi to Auli

A sudden change in climate and chances of snowfall gets higher but not realistically 🙁 Delhi to Auli
Delhi to Auli

This was my favorite among all on the TRIP… don’t know why but it looked just great….for so many days it was there decorating my desktop…. The beauty of AULI is that you get to see complete range of mountains not just one or two high peaks…I felt that made the place even more beautiful n I cud imagine what wud be the case when its all snow in these ranges..

Truly awesome…Delhi to Auli
First there was a thought of driving up to AULI and staying there but but something our EYES caught n we said we will use it to ascend… Delhi to Auli
Most surprising was the fact that it takes 22 minutes one side to reach Auli n having such number of viewing angles from an object hanging 100 Mtr above the ground was worth giving a shot :)… since the last booking was at 4 only so we missed and then had some walk around the market n slept in the ROOM too much… since DAY-3 was planned for AULI… by catching the first trolley at 9 AM. Soon Auli’s pics to follow, keep watching. 🙂

    Hi,

planning to visit Auli in september, can you please suggest how to travel from Dehli with kids and what all places are there to visit in 5 days.

    • Srayasi, first day you can reach Rishikesh/Devprayag. Second day do Rishikesh/Devprayag to Joshimath, third day visit Auli, fourth day you can do Auli to Khirsu and finally Khirsu to Delhi on 5th day.

      • Hi dheeraj,

I am planning to go to Auli on 2nd Jan.
I am still confused about hiring a driver or taking a self drive car.We have experience of driving till shimla, but am not aware about the road conditions to auli.
Could you tell me if it is safe to drive.

Also I as willing to ride my bullet(remaining on car) .Is it a safe option.

        • Guneesh, you can take your own car, no worries on that front I believe. Park your car at Joshimath I will say in case there is too much snow on the way to Auli from there.
