    Sandeep, at places you might have to sacrifice some scratches on the underbelly but overall it shall be fine during this time as water will be less in nallas

    Hi Dheeraj,

    I will be traveling to Spiti via Shimla next week. Any fresh updates on road conditions ? Are the landslides still happening ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Vinod.
    What about road conditions ? I am worried because last month we had few updates about bad road conditions. Can we do the complete circle upto manali in Grand i10 ?

    Yes it can be done in i10 car but with some hits on underbelly of it specifically between batal and chatrru. Please refer the post number 184 in this thread, written by Dheeraj Bhai…[emoji4]

    Hi Dow Team,
    Please have a look on my plans

    Plan-1
    17/09 = Delhi -> Shimla
    18/09 = Shimla -> Sarahan -> Sangla
    19/09 = Chitkul
    20/09 = Kalpa
    21/09 = Sangla -> Nako -> Kaza
    22/09 = Kaza
    23/09 = Kaza
    24/09 = Kaza -> Kumzum -> Chandartal
    25/09 = Chandartal -> Rohtang -> Manali
    26/09 = Manali -> Delhi

    Plan-2
    17/09 = Delhi -> Manali
    18/09 = Manali -> Rohtang -> Chandartal
    19/09 = Chandartal -> Kumzum -> Kaza
    20/09 = Kaza
    21/09 = Kaza
    22/09 = Kaza -> Nako -> Kalpa
    23/09 = Kalpa -> Reckong Peo -> Sangla
    24/09 = Sangla -> Chitkul -> Sangla
    25/09 = Sangla -> Sarahan -> Shimla
    26/09 = Shimla -> Delhi

    I need an advice which route to take, as the forecast shows rain in the last days of my travel in Kinnaur (Kalpa, Sangla and Chitkul) and bit snowfall and rain on rohtang pass. So which plan you suggest me to adopt, considering the weather conditions ?

    Hi I will advise first plan with these changes-

    17th- leave early in the morning, delhi to sarahan.
    18th- sarahan to karcham, sangla, rakcham and then to chitkul.
    19th- back to sangla and then to karcham, powari, recong peo, kalpa.
    20th- kalpa to recong peo, powari, Pooh, nako, tabo. It is about 10 hours drive.
    21st- tabo to kaza and local points.
    22nd- kaza.
    23rd- kaza to chandratal.
    24th- chandratal to Manali.
    25th- Manali to Delhi.
    26th- as buffer day.

    Try to add one or two days to ease it out a little bit.

    You can skip any of the above places according to your convenience.

    Hope it helps..[emoji4]

    Is there any particular season when there is a less chance of landslide and road getting blocked

    September – October is the best time to travel for such a case

    Going for June 14-24. Shall i leave kinnaur valley and focus only on spiti through manali in that case

    Also any idea when the Manali to Spiti road might open this year

    That should be fine, June is also an OK period but yeah occasional landslides could be there but not hat as bad as in monsoons. So, go for it unless weather says heavy rainfall on the dates you are traveling to Kinnaur and Spiti. Manali to Spiti road should open by third week of May

    Folks,

    Can you please help me out with Kunzum pass road status? I am starting my trip to Spiti on 4th from Shimla side. Are there any chances Kunzum pass opens by 11th so that I can come back by Manali and complete the circuit? Thanks.

    It is difficult considering the latest snowfall that was pretty heavy. As per updates from locals, BRO has reached around Chatru but then there are couple of round of heavy snowfall have set them back. I expect around mid May is possible that Manali – Kaza gets open.
