Leh Ladakh Bike Trip from Manali is one of the most sought after a tour of LadakhBikeRental since it starts from Manali and ends in Leh. The Highway is about 490 Kms long in the northernmost part of India with the highest elevation of 5,328 m (17,480 ft) at the Taglang La mountain pass, The road is open only for six months of the year from May till End October.
The route normally takes 2 days by local drivers but it would be more fun if we have it in three days as most of our riders were first time on this highway which is two lanes wide (one lane in each direction) without a road divider and most of the route is graveled which need off-road riding skills.
Day by Day Plan
Many small streams of ice-cold glacial melts water from snow-capped mountains also cross the roads and it requires awesome riding skills to negotiate such fast-flowing streams.
As this mountain highway is one of the most popular among the riders could be taste far better only on two wheels than on any other means where the riders feel that bikes move the soul and many riders of this Himalayan route, named it as a Dream route for their dream rides.
Changing landscapes to higher with a rarified atmosphere where every day the riders have a new pass to throttle up which is sort of the fun of these trips.

EAST LADAKH !
Today we were riding to one of the most famous high altitude lakes, the Pangong Lake which lies on Indo – China border and is 162 km long, the 60% of it lies in China where it is known as Yumdok lake. The road to Pangong Lake is about twisting and turning with a spectacular Changla pass to cross, enjoy the view from the top with a cup of hot tea and you will find the snow if you are crossing in April, May and October months.
By spending not much time on the top, we move ahead towards our destination while encountering some small nomadic villages. A scenic ride will end by evening on a beautiful lake side with some chilled beers
Day 7 | Pangong – Nubra | 160 km
EAST TO NORTH !
Today’s epic ride goes towards Nubra Valley and deep part of the valley is the Border between India – Pakistan. The ride goes on the same route for about 1 hour and after Durbuk village we will turn our right indicator towards northern Ladakh and we believe it’s much warmer than other parts of Ladakh with some smooth and open straight roads along the Shayok river.
We encounter unexpected streams of water over roads in these route where we get a good chance to show our riding skills for crossing and even it makes the roadblock sometimes though it is very rare. Riders has a good opportunity for double hump camel ride which exist nowhere in India except here in Nubra Valley as some of them are left here as ladakh being a part of Ancient silk route trade. Night stay at Hunder, the charming village which offer good stays and we will grip out the best one.
Day 8 | Nubra – Leh | 120 km
TOP OF THE WORLD !
Good Morning NubraValley ! Today we were crossing Khardongla Pass (World Highest Motor-able Road ) a gateway to Nubra valley or Leh. A cultural part of Nubra valley is still left, so as soon as we packed, we kick start from Hundar and ride to a pretty hilllock of Diskit monastery with Stunning Buddha statue, which is a genuinely blessed part of the trip.
Normally today’s route towards Leh is a busy one as you will meet lot of riders in these route and plying of army convoy trucks is also common but still we wish for less and keep pushing up to the top to celebrate the Highest ride. At Top its time to show your ride with epic selfies in the back drop of Khardong la where we won’t suggest to spent more time due to the high altitude. Twisty down hill will take us to the majestic city of Leh
