Hey
We are travelling to Leh for a 7 day trip starting this weekend.  This will be my first Himalayan trip and am really excited. What clothes should I carry? Will I need woollens?  It is planned to be more of a drive around trip with minimum trekking activity.  What shoes do I carry? I currently have Quechua Forclaz 100 which I use in my Sahyadri hills treks here in Maharashtra.  They are very light and are quite porous to aid trekkers during monsoons here.  Will that do? Would be thankful for an immediate reply so that I can pack things in the next couple of days.
Thanks in advance

July – August is considered to be pleasant time window and light woolens mostly do the job for you. The basic thing for making your Ladakh trip a successful one is that at any cost, DO KEEP yourself warm enough and dress up in layers.

Carry comfortable shoes, you should carry 1 light woolen jacket as well in the month of June to August, may be, there could be days when you need just your light jacket only. I have been using my fleece zipper Quechua Forclaz 50 and Forclaz 200 for last 5-6 years and much pleased by them always because they act as a really warm base layer below any jacket or windcheater. Carry a cap or a hat and that shall be fine.
