Hi,

we are a couple traveling to Ladakh from 13-18th July. Is it necessary to book hotels in advance? Or we can directly book once we reach Nubra and pangong? Please suggest.

Thank you

It depends on your choice. If you do not plan to stay at any specific hotel and if you are OK with searching the place a bit after seeing the room conditions once reaching the place, then I guess you could save some good amount of money too on the hotel bookings. Secondly, it provides you with more and more flexibility in terms of dates you reach on a particular place and allow you any last minutes changes. In places like Ladakh where road conditions are uncertain enough to force a change in plan, the flexibility always top the list.

Finding a place is not that difficult in Ladakh if you are accommodating with little things here and there. Mostly taxi drivers will be able to help you through with stay options but even if you are planning on your own or self driving, same is applicable. Keep the list handy with you. A preferred list of accommodation options in entire Leh – Ladakh including moderate and cheap budget hotels as well in the series of articles starting on the link Cheap Budget Hotels or Accommodation in Leh – Ladakh
