Spiti tour with family

Postby donapaola2006 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 9:13 am

In 2014, we visited Shimla & Kinnaur covering the locations – Shimla, Narkanda, Sarahan, Rakchham, Chitkul & Kalpa. We could not travel the remaining part of this tribal circuit (i.e. Lahaul & Spiti) due to paucity of time. Since then, we had a cherished desire to complete the circuit to have a life time experience in cold Himalayan desert. We, the three musketeers (Wife, Daughter & Myself), have just made it during our extended holidays in Durga Puja, 2017.
Spiti, the middle land (between Tibet and India) is a cold desert mountain valley. The beauty, serenity and the undulated vistas throughout the circuit cannot be described in words. Nature was ready with abundance of colour to embrace us, as the end of September is the fall to the Spiti valley. We were mesmerized by the riot of colours in the nature. In this episode, neither I’m going to narrate our travel story, nor giving information related to the tourist spots of Spiti, which you can easily find in many travel blogs by searching in Google. Instead of adding further adjectives in describing this heavenly abode, I’m just sharing our travel itinerary for your information –

Special Mention: This tour could not have been possible without expertise of our Car Driver, Mr. Jai Prakash Bharadwaj, who is also owner of one brand new Innova Crysta (we hired), one Etios-Sedan and one Tempo Traveller. He has a vast experience in this route. He knows the nitty-gritty of this circuit, especially Spiti. We were all spellbound in his driving acumen in this area which is considered as one of the most treacherous roads of the world. It’s his guidance and patience which helped me to capture certain landscapes of this beautiful desert. He is cool headed, not worried for frequent stoppage for taking snaps by his guests.
