Any ride in Ladakh should have a decent GC since there are times when you will have underbody hits when you go over medium sized gravels and rocks. I know people who have done the trip on a classic, Electra and a thunderbird but my strong recommendation would be the Himalayan. I've ridden it and it is designed for this purpose. Has a high rise exhaust so you can wade through water, has a fairly low riding position with centralised gravity and has lots of space to carry jerry cans or attach panniers.

RE Himalayan if you buying for yourself, If you just renting anything will do in RE lineup, But Again RE Himalayan is very different and lot better then existing RE lineup, if you want something Classic in Style and Look and that Appeal Classic 350 or 500 will be best, for everything else as bike Technically and Mechanically Himalayan is far better in terms of touring.
