Some very valid suggestions by Rohith here

I recently visited Gangtok(North SIkkim too). Have visited Ladakh twice.
Most of the tourists are not aware of basic etiquettes. and so sad.. many of them are educated.
Ex: Throwing plastic bottles, plastic covers etc on road(literally wherever they want to throw).

And, at NJP railway station, there was a train with many CRPF staff(Going for an election duty, I guess).
I felt very bad after seeing them, doing similar things. (Throwing almost everything on railway platform).
I observed, there were few dustbins and really empty even after the train left(I believe, There were about 1000+ CRPF members in that train).

“No plastic campaign” is very much needed to keep the places clean(The high passes, where more people might start visiting).

Just similar to Dow causes, it would be good if “No plastic”/keep it clean awareness is available in DoW website.

Thanks,
– Rohith

O yes, that's a good suggestion. Even Soframycin helps with burns too.

Hi all,
This is great initiative to actually help them and we can improve at least a some things in their lives.

Many tourist with some family members travel to Himalayas and not even think about helping and return back with litter along the road.

I am traveling to Ladakh this July for the 1st time and would like to help with Gyaan & Cure initiative. I can definitely go and talk to schools with stationary.

But can you guys help me out for the Cure initiative. Where can I submit all medicines. Also, if someone is aware of some special requirement in Healthcare for particular locality / town. Do let me know will definitely try to fulfill it.

I am very new to this forum but would like to suggest an idea - one of my friend volunteered for Sikkim Himalayan Academy in Sikkim to teach different things and held different sessions their for 15 days. Similarly, here we can arrange a drive or meet to fulfill their needs by volunteering and taking up different responsibilities.

Do consider me in for such initiatives. Will contribute however I can.

Thanks,
Harshad.

Thank you so very much Harshad for coming forward for these causes. I have found that lately it is most effective to contribute to GYAAN 500 more than CURE as medicines may not go useful at all times. However, almost all villages have primary health care centers where you can visit and hand over the medicines. This is what we do.

No need to thank brother for a noble cause, just spread the smiles up in Himalayas and you will be thanking yourself and us indirectly :)
