My Ladakh Trip experience – August 2016

Hi everyone,

Me n my wife just returned from 7 days LEH trip (13th August – 20th August)

First of all, I like to thanks Dheeraj for his effort & his comprehensive blog to support me in creating my customised Itinerary for Leh Ladakh.

A. Just for reference, I am sharing my itinerary ( may help other people)

· 13th august , 2016 : Fly to Leh from Delhi & rest in the home stay (Bharat Villa, Contact No : 09596967921, Good & Clean Home stay near to main market)

· 14th august, 2016 : Leh Site seeing – Sangam( Confluence of Zaskar & Indus river ) ,Magnetic hill , Pattar singh shahib gurudwara, Hall of Fame, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa. In the evening stroll in Main Market

· 15th august , 2016 : Leh – Khardung La – Diskit – Hunder & stay overnite in Hunder (Yombuk Nubra, Contact No : 09469190203, Good Home stay near to lovely environmental setting)

· 16th august, 2016 : Hunder – Khalsar – Agham – shyok – Tangste – Pangong Lake & return to shey for overnite stay ( Good guesthouse Contact person & no. Mr. Tsewang Leh -09419979141)

· 17th august , 2016 : Shey – Upshi – Kiari – sumdo to Tso Moriri Lake & stay overnite in Tso Kar ( just to avoid overnight stay near Sarchu & pang)

· 18th august , 2016 : Tso Kar – Pang – Sarchu – Baralacha La – Patseo –Darcha – Jispa - Keylong

· 19th august, 2016 : Keylong – Tandi – Sissu – Rohtang Pass – Marhi –Solang valley - Manali & off for Delhi by evening Volvo.

B. Broad Observation from the trip

· Only BSNL Postpaid will work in majority of the area & Airtel postpaid connection will be limited only 30 km catchment area around LEH

· Homestay is one of the best option to stay in LEH & Ladakh ( ... 20STAY.pdf)

· Take proper rest in the first day ( One full day rest to acclimatised the new Environment)

· Always carry water bottles to remain hydrate in the overall trip ( which will help to avoid Acute mountain sickness problem in hilly terrain )

· Try to avoid Pang – Sarchu stretch in overnight stay

· Road after Sarchu to Manali is really in bad condition

C. Selected recommendation for the trip

· Driver: Ranchen Angchuk – (09469049868 BSNL No., 09906112560 Airtel No.) Scorpio car for the whole trip. Good & decent driver with lots of patience to drive in hilly terrain. Highly recommended

· Home stay in Leh : Bharat Villa, Contact No : 09596967921, Good & Clean Home stay near to main market. Recommended

· Home stay in Hunder, Nubra Valley : Yombuk Nubra, Contact No : 09469190203, Good Home stay near to lovely environmental setting. Recommended

· Guesthouse in Shey: Good guesthouse in Shey -Contact person & no. Mr. Tsewang Leh -09419979141. Recommended

Hope all these information will be useful to interested traveller

Best of luck for the journey
