River Side Resort, Tirthan Valley | Hotel Review

If you are looking for solitude, peace, calmness, break from the hustle-bustle, chit-chats, bonfires, nature walks etc I bet Tirthan Valley, besides ever serene Trithan River, could do wonders for you in such a call. However, there are not many options of stay / accommodation in this secluded part of Himachal Pradesh named Tirthan Valley. Hence, you need some planning before you hit the road especially if you are with family. One of those scarce stay option, is the pioneer of all guest houses of Himachal Pradesh (in fact India), famous by the name “Raju Bharti Guest House”. Despite of being so popular for a long time, this fantastic home stay offers the quality it is famous for. But, with quality comes the price and Rs 2500-3000 per couple / per day (includes all meals + juices + fruits) is although moderate but slightly on higher side. Along with the price comes the limited booking and Raju’s guest house is booked for long periods. Hence, you need to beat the long queues of avid adventurous travelers to book this home stay option.

Another recently introduced option of stay in Tirthan Valley is the “River Side Resort”. The place is new but is getting too much popularity because of its flexible policies (which I really appreciate) and affordable prices offered for a comfortable stay tossed with tasty food. During our visit (which is always unplanned ;) ) to Tirthan Valley, we stayed in the River Side Resort. I must appreciate the offerings of that place with the efforts of Mr. Bhupinder Singh + Team and I hope they maintain quality with these policies and prices only.

Day 5 – 27th April, 2010 | Tirthan Valley to Delhi

Well it was a lovely morning at Tirthan Valley and everyone was looking forward for the day in the lap of Great Himalayan National Park. Unfortunately, the call from office was about to fall on the plans. There was some seriously urgent work at office and I knew my manager would never insisted me if it wasn’t urgent, so I had to leave back home for the same to join office the very next day, even if it meant a continuous long drive. We had some disappointment :( at last on not seeing the inner boundaries (at least the waterfall that were planned today) of Trithan Valley and may be it was a reason to dedicate a trip just to Tirthan Valley sometime ahead. Day 4 – 26th April, 2010 | Shoja to Tirthan Valley

Yesterday was an action packed adventurous day with fantabulous drive in hills which ended with a sound sleep at Raja’s Guest House, Shoja. It was morning at Shoja, the breeze had still the chill in it even though sun was out in full glory. The stay so far was very much comfortable with nice rooms and economically worth at the cost of Rs. 2400 for three rooms it even added advantage of stay there. Everyone was excited as they knew that this day would be the most relaxing of the trip with hard lazing-out right into the lap of mother nature with serene Tirthan River flowing aside them.

If you have missed any part especially the Day 2 of the travel story so far then it’s time to check it for sure with rest of them. Here is the listing of all the parts…

  • Night 1 – 22nd April, 2010 | Delhi to Kufri, Fagu
  • Day 1 – 23rd April, 2010 | Galu, Kufri to Kalpa, Kinnaur Valley
  • Day 2 – 24th April, 2010 | Kalpa, Kinnaur Valley

Day 3 – 25th April, 2010 | Kalpa, Kinnaur Valley to Shoja

It was bright sunny morning at Kalpa and as we all woke up, we all knew it would be a tough day, again. Somehow, few of us who had an ardent desire to see Spiti, controlled ourselves and asked few locales at the hotel about the road conditions ahead. They told us that few days back there was a massive landslide nearby Puh. That very moment considering our shoddy luck I decided, no matter if roads had been cleared for traffic in last 2 days, we are not at all attempting it. I wished it to be a correct decision as some of us were disappointed deep inside our heart, missing Spiti. (But we all had a sigh of relief coming back here and reading the news regarding that massive landslide in Spillow region which kept the Hindustan Tibet Road blocked for 5 days and was opened the very day when we returned back home :D ) Atlast a correct decision I felt :) and now the next big thing was to decide the place where we will head for next two-three days. None of us wanted Shimla, Narkanda, Chail etc, hence the only option left was Sarahan. Again everyone questioned “What is it?”, “How is it?”, “What we will see there?” etc etc and I was sure that they will kill me if nothing special existed there. I thought again to say let’s go to “TIRTHAN VALLEY” where we will have river by our side and the “Great Himalayan Natinal Park“. None have heard about it but I have read massively about that place at the time of My Honeymoon Trip. I knew that there goes a path via “Jalori Pass” through Shimla | Ani | Kahnag side and is quite an adventurous one too. So we said let’s give it a shot and go for an adventurous drive!!!

Day 2 – 24th April, 2010 | Kalpa, Kinnaur Valley

Yesterday was an unforgettable day for each one of us however right now it was a new day with new hopes and most importantly new LUCK. It was this day when we got the justification for the statement, “Everything happens for a cause”. May be god wanted us to stay here for the day and see what 7 out of 10 haven’t seen before, maybe he wanted us to tell that there is more of this ahead so better relax here, enjoy the vistas and head somewhere better.  Just a preview…
