Weather in mountains changes very fast. I have just come back from Uttarakhand and it was very hot. Everywhere landslides happened a few hours before we were there, so the roads were all cleared for us.
Hi Nisha,
It indeed, weather does change up very fast in Himalayas. You leave for a trek considering the sunshine will give you some breathtaking views and you end up getting caught in some snowfall
… You must feel lucky for sure that landslides were cleared for you guys. Presently, rains have created havoc in Uttarakhand and has left stranded so many people all over the Char Dham routes. But, its nothing new in monsoons.
BTW, it was sad that you got sick on your trip to Uttarakhand and I can imagine what it feels leaving a trip in between
… But, I guess in the end you guys made a correct decision to return as things can get messy with lack of medical facilities in Himalayas. So, it always better to be safe after all the places will remain there eternally (almost)
Regards,
Dheeraj Sharma
