Hotel Chube is OK OK types of hotel in Leh but in that price I believe there are other better options available around. Rooms were quite damp.

Leh is the major town of Ladakh region and offers wide variety of accommodation options. Leh offers plenty of places to stay which suits wide form of pockets. Right from the economic to expensive and luxurious, Leh has it all. We landed up at Leh in the middle of peak tourist season and unfortunately most of hotels were closed for us. After a lot of on the spot search, we finally got success to find an accommodation for us. It was Hotel Chubi and we were offered just 2 days of accommodation because after that Hotel Chubi or Hotel Chube was also booked completely for weeks to come :)… Read below for the complete review –

Price
We got double bedded rooms (2 in number) at the price of Rs 800 per day. I guess the charges were too much as compared to the conditions of the room but we had no choice rather to take them. It was the costliest stay for us and perhaps the last when it came to room conditions.
Location
Hotel Chubi or Chube is located very near to the Changspa road. You need to take a right turn from Changspa road T-section and at the end of the road take a left turn. You will find this Hotel on the left side in that lane. We walked quite a few times between Hotel Chubi and Changspa road, so its not very far from it.
Parking
There was a no parking space available in the hotel. You will need to park the car outside the hotel just aside road. There was an empty land as well very near to hotel and I guess can be used for parking as well.
Phone Facility
Phone facility along with STD is also available at the Hotel, the market and the Changspa road as well. The mobile connectivity was there for both Airtel and BSNL.
ATM:
There are I guess three ATMs in Leh town and are not too far away from the Hotel Chubi. Two of them are near Taxi stand and one in the main market.
Petrol Pump
To get the fuel, you need to go to the Petrol Pump in Leh town.
Medical Assistance
For any medical assistance you will have to Leh town hospital, not too far away.
Personal Experience
Rooms in the hotel provided average level of comfort. There was a dampness in the room and the low light made it even more damp. The rooms were not so cozy but they were quite clean. The attached bathrooms having hot water supply were also clean. There was no TV in the room 🙁 … A small garden was there in the hotel which had some lovely flowers as you say in the pictures too. I guess the dampness and low light was a big turnoff in terms of room.
Quality of food in the restaurant was really nice and the taste of tea /coffee was also good. We had the breakfast there which was quite good. Hospitality we received from the Uncle and Aunty was good too and they were quite friendly to talk to.
Attraction In-Around Hotel
Leh Main Market, Leh Palace, Changspa Road and Shanti Stupa are the not too far away from the Hotel Chubi.

Conclusion
In the end, I can say that it was an AVERAGE experience for us at the Hotel Chubi when we consider the price. You can try it if you cannot not find booking at any other hotel or at similar price. Personally, I didn’t like the rooms due to dampness but the food served in the restaurant tasted great and the garden in the hotel complex is lovely to refresh the fatigue of the days journey.

We really enjoyed the stay at Hotel Chubi for almost 6 days. We were on cycle expedition from Manali to Khardungla & the warm welcome by the hotel management was really soothing to our stressed body. The food was really great & sumptuous except breakfast , at times only bread butter jam which was disappointing. The garden & fresh ambience of hotel really helped us recuperate from all the aches. Help desk tipped us well regarding local site seeing .

We stayed in H.Chube in the First week of Oct”14. Some rooms are good but some are very damp.I think at Rs.2000/- one can easily get a better hotel. Food was very poor given the fixed price they charge irrespective of the quality.Also there is no variety . Moreover , they didn’t have any full-time cook, which is one of the basics in a good hotel.The one very good aspect of this Hotel is the courteous behaviour and hospitality of Mr. Sonam Rigzin, the owner,the same cannot however be said about his wife whose interference in all matters is probably spoiling the goodwill of this hotel.Hotel driver Phunsok is excellent both as a person as well as the driver/guide.Other staff are good, nice.

It appears I was a bit too harsh w.r.t the review dtd 19.01.14 of this Hotel.I only wish that the Hotel management do look into the finer aspects of client satisfaction and there is ample room for improvement. The Hotel owner Mr. Rigzin is a very nice, helpful person and the hotel is also in avery good location , not toofar from the market. I wish all the best to them for 2015. Nilanjan
That’s fair enough I believe Nilanjan. But that is true that dampness and the cost does not match here because in that price there are other non-damped rooms available. I also wish that they do something for it because Rigzin ji was quite helpful to us as well.

If you plan to go ladakh for enjoying and choose hotel chubi, cancel the trip otherwise fake bills and distress will be gained from such fraud hotel.

I am planning to book Hotel Chube via Website. In websites, it is mentioned as 1600/-(Per night for 2 persons). but u said u got the room for 800/-. Is it for single person r 2 persons?
Subbu, we landed directly at their desk so the difference in price. Prebookoing via phone is different and prices are ought to be high but considering a 10% hike in hotel and taxi price this year, 1600 i feel is still high. Check the review of shanti guest house as well before booking chubi.
